I can’t think of anything more appropriate for the beginning of spring than this little treat I made for my friend, Anne. This little treat is a sweet, hearty salad that I make during the middle of my day. It is hearty enough to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks throughout the day.
This is a quick and easy meal to make that can be made in about 20 minutes or so. You can make it any time of the day as long as you have the ingredients (and a little bit of time) and you can make it in advance and freeze it for later.
I’m sure that this is the only salad that you’ve ever had that makes you feel like you’re in the middle of the most vibrant springtime ever. The reason for that is because this salad is made with a combination of basil, red wine vinegar, olive oil, and oregano. The basil adds a touch of brightness and flavor, while the red wine vinegar gives this salad the perfect amount of acidity that just has to be there.
The salad also contains a little bit of salt, which I’ve been really craving for a while, plus the combo of olive oil and oregano is great because it brings an extra bit of natural sweetness to this dish. The red wine vinegar is, of course, a must-have for this salad. I’ve tried a lot of different vinegars, but the basil-vinegar combo is just divine.
I always add salt on my salad, but I thought it would be a little weird to start a salad with the combo of salt and vinegar, so I added a teaspoon of salt to the last batch of finished salad. I know you’re probably thinking, “Why is the salt necessary?” Well, it’s all in there so it won’t burn your tongue (and your teeth) if you eat it straight.
The basil-vinegar combo is pretty hard to find, so I thought I would suggest that you go and buy some instead of reading a recipe.
The combo of basil and vinegar can be confusing to a lot of people, but it means you can really do a lot of different things with it. You can add onions, tomatoes, or even cucumbers to the salad. The basil is just going to add a whole lot of flavor.
The salad itself is pretty easy to make. The basil and vinegar are the tough part though and if you have any luck finding those ingredients, you can replace them with whatever is in the fridge.
It’s a simple salad. Instead of basil, you can use any combination of other herbs, garlic and vinegar. It’s a simple salad that is great for a summer picnic, but it also works great for any time of year. You can make a big batch and freeze it for a week.
The salad is great for any season, but I think it especially works well right now with the hot weather we’ve been having. I’m not sure if it’s going to be all that good for an autumn picnic, but I think it’s a great summer salad. It’s one of those things that always seems like a good idea when you’re eating it right away. The basil is perfect, but you’re also getting a nice little citrus note, which is a nice little extra.
